Pub Crawl Three - The Countryside Crawl

This is a good route for people who love the countryside.
From the city centre walk past the Peahen (save it for later) down London Road for about 400 yards and go into the Farmers Boy. This is home of the Alehouse brewery that brew Farmers Joy and Yorkshire. As well as these two there will normally be two other ales offered. The Farmers Boy is a nice traditional country style pub.

The next pub is back up London Road about 100 yards and on the left you will find The Beehive. This has recently undergone a refurbishment and is quite a smart place to drink with a couple of real ales normally available.

After visiting the Beehive exit the pub and turn right. Go past the White Hart Tap and after another 100 yards you will see the third pub, the Hare and Hounds. This is an old pub with traditional features and a low ceiling in places. Normally two or three ales are available, often including London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord.

Come out of the Hare and Hounds, turn left along Sopwell Lane and go past the White Lion on your right (not may of those in the countryside so give it a miss!). After about 100 yards enter the Goat This is an old traditional inn built in the 17th Century. It has a fair bit of seating around the back and normally has a couple of real ales available.

On leaving the Goat turn right then right again and go up Holywell Hill. Go past the White Hart Hotel and after another 50 yards enter the Peahen. This place can be quite lively on a Friday and Saturday night with smart over 21's enjoying their wine and premium lager. Fortunately real ale is available in the form of MacMullans Cask and AK bitters.
You have now completed the Countryside Crawl although if you still need another drink the White Swan is a perfectly good 'countryside' pub.
